Hi guys.......Just giving an update

Hi guys,

Its been a while since I have been able to post or even read the forum. Finally had the chance to come on and catch up on the goings on here and I figured I would give an update.

Unfortunately I have had a few set backs over the past few months (have not gained any weight back........Thank god) but I havent lost any either. A couple months ago we thought that I had a heart attack while driving to work. Fortunately, it was just a severe hypoglycemic episode (yes my gluclose is still dumping since the surgery) but it took them awhile to figure it out. I couldnt exercise so I became a slug not being able to go to the gym and get my workouts in.

If thats not enough, I had have foot surgery a month ago today. They put an implant in my toe and removed a joint. But now my body doesnt like the fact of the strange thing in there and have developed a severe infection. Doctors took me off of work for a month and are talking about removing the toe...... Wont know until next week at the earliest.

On a happier not, Susan is almost there with her surgery. She finished all her classes and did the Phsyc eval and is just waiting for the referal to Dr Suh. She is a little nervous (considering the crap I put her through cant blame her) but very excited.

Hey there Rick, I've been thinking about you!!! Sorry you've had all those things happen to you but maybe this will be all and you'll be completely on the mend!!! I'm happy to hear that Susan is almost done with everything...she'll do great :)

It is so good to hear from you. I was just asking a few weeks ago if anyone had heard from you. I am  sorry you are going through so much. I hope things will start getting better soon. Tell your wife we are all wishing her good luck in her surgery. I need to start up the exercise post again. I have been on vacation and haven't started it since I have come home, which was just Sunday. Take care and keep in touch!

Good to see you post again.  I have not seen you on FB as well and figured life was going on.  Sorry to hear about your setbacks but very happy it was not a heart attack.  Keep us posted on your toe and I hope you don't have to lose it down the road.

Glad to hear Susan is close to her surgery date as well.  Keep us posted on her date also.

I am glad to see you on OH again. I am sorry to hear about all your health challenges. I am wishing nothing but the best. If you have managed to not gain weight with all these challenges, in my humble opinion, you're doing great!!!

I was just asking Annette about you this past weekend and wondering about your wife too and here is the answer :)   Im sorry you have gone through these set backs, Im sure it is not fun at all... on a positive note.. it's great that it wasn't a heart attack and that you aren't gaining weight!  Always good to look on the positive!  (I need to take my own advice :) )

Hey Rick,

Sorry to hear about all the things that have been happening to you.  I have the same thing with the low blood sugar, but Doug had called the medics for me when I went through that and they too thought it was a heart attack, then they checked my sugar...it was down to 50.  I can relate to how scary it is....that sweating thing was weird. 

Please take good care of yourself.  I am so sorry to hear about your toe, that really sucks to lose weight, start to feel normal and live like a thin person and then the crap hits the fan.  I will pray that everything works out for you.
